Brian McCaughan, who was seen in Gold Rush, has been mining gold with his family for more than a decade.
Brian and his family were invited to an episode of Gold Rush in 2024, which grabbed people’s interest in his mining business which he runs with his family.
Previously, Brian’s crew member, Travis Delawski, reported that he had found a body.
Talking to ChatNewsToday, Brian said that he discovered the bones with fresh skin and hair on it and looked as if it died a week ago.
According to the Yukon government, the mammoth discovered in the Tr’ondek Hwech n traditional area is Nun cho ga.
Nun cho ga is the name given by the elders of the Tr’ondek Hwech that translates to “big baby animal.”

In an episode of Gold Rush, Sharon said that they started their professional career with siding and roofing. They even built a stock car racetrack as Brian was a race car driver.
The couple eventually started gold mining in 2012.
She also revealed that they are totally opposite as partners and don’t always agree when they are working together.

Today, the husband-and-wife duo successfully operates Treadstone Equipment Ltd., a business that specializes in buying and selling equipment, fabrication and commercial trucking, and placer gold mining.
Brian and Sharon are the co-founders of Treadstone that they began in 2011. According to Brian’s LinkedIn, he has been the General Manager and COO for more than 14 years.
Similarly, Sharon is the Director and office manager. She is also the one who is in charge of processing the gold in their mining business.

Talking about Brian and Sharon’s kids, they have three. Their two sons, named Bryce McCaughan and Gage McCaughan, help them in gold mining.
Bryce is the eldest of two children. He is at the age of 24 while his brother is 23 years old, as of 2025.
Both of their sons have been working since completing their high school.
Bryce revealed that he was just 14 years old when he started mining, that was since grade 10.
