Lower was born on August 2, 1985, in Heyworth, Illinois. Her parents' names are Mickey Lower and Steven Lower. Her mother being in the field of painting and art herself, encouraged Britt's interest in arts.
Talking about her education, her high school was Heyworth High School which she finished in 2004. To study acting, she then enrolled in Northwestern University where she earned a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in Theatre.

Lower started her professional acting career as Meg in the TV series Great Lake (2010).
