All the fans of Discovery Channel's "Moonshiners" have been worried about Eric “Digger” Manes and his health condition ever since there was the revelation of his diagnosis with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) in Season 13 premiere.

Digger confided in his co-star and longtime friend Mark Ramsey, about his health condition, when he first received his diagnosis of Leukemia, which was filmed by the company and later aired in the season 13 premiere.

Many have been concerned about his health even in 2025.

What Disease Does Digger Manes Have?

Digger has a cancer of the blood and bone marrow called Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. According to the National Cancer Institute, this kind of cancer worsens over time.

CLL is the most common form of leukemia in adults, though it remains relatively rare, with fewer than 200,000 cases diagnosed annually in the United States.

Although it gets worse over time, many individuals manage it for years with appropriate treatment and monitoring.

Despite the health challenges, Digger was seen expressing his desire to “go big before he goes home” by remaining active in his moonshining endeavors.

You might be wondering what is Digger doing now following the revelation about his illness.

Well, Digger is not seen posting on his personal Instagram but Mark & Digger’s Facebook page shows that they are currently touring with their Meet and Greet program. The Moonshiners duo went to Florida on February 14th, 2025, for their Meet & Greet program.

When the news of Digger’s Leukemia aired in January 2024, he took to Facebook to clarify his condition. Digger emphasized that CLL is not terminal but it is a chronic condition that will require ongoing management.

His fans flooded the post with messages of support and encouragement. Digger is still involved in moonshining endeavors and recently collaborated with Kentucky-based moonshiner Bruiser Martin.
