Paco and Melissa both participated in the Mexican reality show La Academia in 2011, where they first met and fell in love.

Paco did not win the competition, but he continued to pursue a professional music career. He released his self-titled debut album in 2012 and has also released many other songs on Spotify.

Paco even wrote a song titled Melissa in 2019, which was a wedding gift to his wife.
