They were in a living relationship for almost ten years before they decided to get married. At the age of 29, Ryan and his partner Patricia exchanged their wedding vows in 1988.
After their successful marriage, they became parents to their three kids: son Sam and daughters Mackenzie and Claire. He also set up the Upfront Theatre in Bellingham, which is a small theatre for his live improv comedy.
