Hostin is a co-host of ABC's morning talk show The View and a senior legal analyst and reporter for ABC News. In addition to that, she is also the host and executive producer of Discovery's true-crime series, Truth About Murder with Sunny Hostin.

Although he initially didn't seem interested in her, his friend later offered his number suggesting her to attend one of the parties that he and Emmanuel were planning to throw.

On a January 2021 episode of The View, Hostin spoke about the death of Emmanuel's parents.
Hostin announced that Emmanuel's parents died as a result of coronavirus while she was on vacation. She said,
"After speaking with [my husband], he felt that from a public health standpoint it was very important for me to share that we are deeply saddened that Manny lost both of his parents over the holiday."
