According to Sunny's memoir, she said she was living in Maryland at the time and finished running one day when she decided to follow her mother's advice and go to church.

About five minutes after arriving, she saw Emmanuel walking through the church door. It was love at first sight for Sunny as Emmanuel was looking gorgeous in his beautifully tailored suit.

Unlike him, Sunny wasn't dressed up like someone who was going to church. According to her, she looked "ridiculous" with her hair slicked back in a ponytail and the sweat suit.

Since Sunny's eyes were glued to his every move, she followed him to the bagel shop and spoke to him.

Although he initially didn't seem interested in her, his friend later offered his number suggesting her to attend one of the parties that he and Emmanuel were planning to throw.

Sunny accepted the invitation and the rest is history.
