Vladimir Duthiers is a CBS News correspondent located in New York who started to work as a correspondent for CBS, the company's 24-hour digital streaming network, in November 2014.

Since joining CBS News in 2014, the Peabody and Emmy Award-winning journalist has reported on a range of breaking and feature stories.

He was once based in Lagos, Nigeria, and worked as a foreign journalist for CNN. Vladimir worked as a managing director at an investment firm before pursuing a career in media.

He has approximately 18 years of experience in the investment management sector. Vladimir is a wise and competent man.

On December 21, 1969, Vladimir Duthiers was born in New York City. American citizen Vladimir is of Han Chinese and French-Haitian ancestry.

He was brought up in a disjointed immigrant family in New York and was exposed to bits and pieces of his heritage.

From an early age, he showed intelligence and brilliance. He has been learning languages since he was a little child, among them Mandarin Chinese, French, Haitian, and English.

He initially planned to study journalism while attending the University of Rhode Island, but he later switched to political science.

Vladimir completed his education in 1991 and started working for Wall Street in the financial services division.

He worked for a few years following his early experiences in the industry until joining Alliance Bernstein in 1993.

After working for the association for a while, he was given the position of Managing Director, with responsibility for business expansion in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

After that, he enrolled at Columbia University to study broadcast journalism.

He kept both his and his parents' personal information private and didn't reveal it either. This behavior, therefore, shows that the elderly Duthiers couple prefers their seclusion and would never consider being well-known in public, even having a famous son.

Although it is believed that Vladimir Duthiers' father was born in France, his parents were Haitian immigrants who also had French ancestry Duthiers is a native French and Haitian Creole speaker who has mixed origins.

The official language of Haiti is Haitian Creole, a Creole language with a French foundation. The journalist for CBS News is therefore without a doubt fluent in Creole. His quick mind picked up French in the interim, making him trilingual.

Along with his inherited heritage of appreciating all languages and civilizations, Duthiers' familiarity with various cultures is also closely related.

His grandmother Jeanne Caillet supposedly has a Sorbonne degree and has worked as a journalist, even though his parents want to stay secret.

Between the two world wars, she also worked in France, where she frequently was arrested and might have even been physically assaulted because of her suffragist activism.

Although the attack broke her spirit, she fled to Haiti, where she passed away three days after giving birth to the Duthiers' father.

In a tweet from 2016, Vladimir expressed satisfaction with Erika Duthiers, his younger sister. Vladimir seemed to love his sister very much, just like every other older sibling.

Erika, his sister, is married and has two sons. Vladimir's nephews, her sons, frequently feature on Vladimir's Instagram.

Vladimir Duthiers Visited Family Vault.

After the 2010 Haitian earthquake, 52-year-old Duthiers discovered his family's crypt, which also contains the graves of his unidentified grandparents.

The CNN production assistant visits the cemetery that afternoon to ensure no one has disturbed his ancestors' tranquility and to attempt to learn as much as possible from any dates and names etched on the stones.

In 1980, Duthiers made his final trip to Haiti, joining a CNN crew that arrived in the city on January 12—the day following the earthquake.

Additionally, CNN claims that Duthiers keeps wandering around the graveyard while reciting stories about his grandmother.  When Reuters questioned him about where his parents came from and whether they shared his viewpoint on life, he responded as follows:

They had the same outlook as many immigrants, which was that anything is possible if you work hard and study hard.

He continued,

"It doesn’t matter where you come from or what you look like, as long as you are willing to do whatever it takes to take it to the next level. As a result, they were pretty strict with me. I wasn’t even allowed to wear sneakers to school."

Family

Vladimir Duthiers is a married man. On September 2, 2020, he wed Marian Wang, an Asian who was born in Taiwan, China.

In January 2023, the couple will give birth as they are expecting their first daughter.
