The estranged pair, Nicholas and Cathy, first met when Cathy was a senior at the University of New Hampshire.
Nicholas liked Cathy and sent her around 100 letters by graduation. The love, which started with love letters, led Nicholas and Cathy to marriage.
Cathy received a ring from Nicholas after six months of dating. She even followed him to his hometown of Sacramento.
Nicholas and Kathy got married in 1989, but their marriage ended after 25 years in 2015.

Nicholas is a proud father of five kids whom he welcomed with his ex-wife, Cathy.
In one of his interviews, Nicholas revealed that Cathy had a miscarriage. Well, they are now parents of three sons and twin daughters.
Their son Ryan grew up struggling with a learning disability. The Sparks spent years reaching out to various doctors to figure out that he is severely autistic.
