Who Is Iga Swiatek's Father?
Iga is the second daughter of parents Tomasz Świątek and Dorota Świątek (born on 31st May 2001 in Warsaw, Poland). Iga Swiatek’s dad Tomasz Świątek is also an athlete, an Olympian.
Tomasz was a Polish Olympic rower who competed in the men’s quadruple sculls event at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul and finished seventh.
Her father Tomasz competed in a team, and the team’s success was not entirely on him but on team effort. So, he wanted the situation to be more straightforward for his daughters and wanted them to be in charge of what they achieved.
Coming from an athletic background, Iga’s father certainly had a huge impact on her career and taught the Swiatek siblings to be disciplined and professional.
Who Is Iga Swiatek's Mother?
Iga Swiatek’s mom Dorota Świątek is an orthodontist and dentist by profession. Dorota graduated with a dentistry degree from Warsaw Medical University.
Both her parents are very supportive in nature. However, Iga barely shares about her mom Dorota and she was also not seen supporting her daughter physically unlike her husband Tomasz. But that does not mean that the mother-daughter duo has a cold relationship.
It's just that Dorota was a multitasker who stood on the side of dental chairs most of the time to ensure her daughter's comprehensive personal development. While on the other hand, Iga often traveled abroad and her schedule is very tight with many responsibilities as a tennis player.
Nevertheless, according to Dorota’s interview with Sportpwefakty, she revealed that she always congratulated her daughter on winning titles, mostly by e-mail.
Not to mention that Dorota have had traveled with her daughters during the European tournaments from the Tenis Europe and ITF series but Dakota adds that she doesn’t have to be physically there to support her daughter.
When talking deep down about their relations, Dorota concluded the statement by saying,
“Apart from the distance and the busy schedule, our relationships are also influenced by family factors, but I would not like to explore the topic further. Let's put a stop here.”
Additionally, Iga’s mom describes that her family was a task force family, although no roles were imposed, they were obvious to them.
Iga Swiatek Siblings
Iga Swiatek has an elder sister namd Agata Swiatek. Her sister Agata is 3 years older in terms of age than her. Agata was also a Tennis player until she decided to quit it during her junior high school. She was also a talented swimming player and was a diligent one among the sisters.
When they were young, the coach's involvement and most of the training sessions used to be more focused on Agata.
As per the wiki, Agata is now said to be studying dentistry in the same college as her mother (Warsaw Medical University).
