Spanish professional tennis player Rafael Nadal is ATP’s No. 2 ranked player and has gained 11 career titles. He grew up in a sports-minded family where both his uncles were athletes. 

His uncle Toni Nadal guided and coached him in tennis whereas his other uncle Miguel Angel Nadal was a professional soccer player who played in the 2002 World Cup. Rafael played left-handed tennis with both a two-handed forehand and backhand but at the age of 12, his uncle encouraged him to adopt a left-handed style.

Rafael Nadal married his long-time girlfriend Maria Francisca Perello aka Xisca Perello in a beautiful wedding ceremony at Mallorca's La Fortaleza castle. The duo began dating in 2005 and have traveled to many places together. 

The pair got married in October 2019 and got engaged in January 2019.

Although the duo tied the knot after 14 years of dating, Rafael and his wife opt to keep their family life and relationship details out of the public eye. Back when the duo was in Paris, Rafael was invited to a dinner party hosted by one of his sponsors. His partner Xisca preferred staying at the hotel and later when Rafael returned back from the dinner he said, ‘Thank God you didn’t come' as the place had been completely swarmed by photographers.

Rafael’s partner does not wish to step into the celebrity world so Rafael barely posts pictures with his beloved wife on his Instagram too.

His wife Maria is a graduate in business administration who initially worked for an insurance company. As of now, Rafael’s wife is a project director at her husband’s charity named “The Rafa Nadal Foundation.”

The pair loves to live a low-key and private life and when the news of his pregnant wife being hospitalized was leaked, Rafael became very furious.

While Rafael is preparing for the final Grand Slam season for the US Open, his wife has been hospitalized in a private clinic room in Hospital Quironsalud Palmaplanas. Nevertheless, both Rafael’s wife and baby are out of danger now.

After the 37th week of her pregnancy Rafael's wife welcomed a baby boy. The pair wecomed their son on Saturday afternoon of 8th October 2022 at a private clinic in Palma.

Rafael Nadal grew up as the eldest child of father Sebastián Nadal and mother Ana Maria Parera in a small village in Mallorca. His dad is a successful businessman who owns an insurance company, a window and glass company in Manacor, and also a restaurant named Sa Punta. His mom was a perfume trader who later opted to be a homemaker soon after Rafael’s birth.

His parents were like his pillars so he faced a major hit when his parents got divorced in 2009. As the pillars of his life crumbled Rafael was depressed and had lost his enthusiasm. His parents decided to split after nearly 30 years of marriage which was devastating for him and his family.

However, rumors hit the surface regarding the reunion of his parents in 2011 when they were spotted sitting next to each other in the Royal Box supporting their son in first-round at the 2011 Wimbledon Championship.

Moreover, the center court of Barcelona was named after Rafael. After the special court naming ceremony, the stadium was officially crowned the Pista Rafa Nadal. A 3-meters tall steel statue was also built in his honor at Stade Roland Garros by Spain’s renowned sculptor Jordi Díez Fernández which was unveiled in 2021.
