Although many know Alex Burns as MJ Lee’s husband, he has already established himself as a respected political correspondent in his own right.

In an interview with The New York Review in 2023, Alex revealed that he was just six years old when he first discovered his interest in politics.
He watched the presidential debates with his parents and then made a picture book about the 1992 election.
However, he did not consider a career in political journalism until the end of college.
Alex got his first job at Politico in 2008 as a researcher and co-founders’ assistant. He initially thought of studying history or law, but as time passed, he fell in love with work.
So, in 2015, he went to the Times and worked on the Metro desk before covering the 2016 and 2020 elections as a political correspondent.
Alex has now spent many years covering political news across the nation. He is known as a columnist for Politico and a political correspondent for The New York Times.
He is also an author known for co-writing the New York Times best-seller, This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future in 2022.

MJ Lee and Alex Burns Children
MJ Lee and Alex met while working at Politico and they eventually fell in love. The couple then got married in October 2013.
Lee and her husband Alex have now been married for 11 years and are parents of two children. The duo likes to keep their family life private so they haven’t revealed much about their kids.
According to Lee’s CNN bio, the names of their children are Penelope and Jamie.
Lee announced her 2nd pregnancy in mid-2020 and has been giving glimpses of her pregnancy through her Instagram posts. She surprised everyone in March 2021 by announcing the arrival of their second baby.
Lee shared an Instagram carousel with her newborn baby and husband announcing that they welcomed Penelope Lee Burns a week ago. She further revealed that Penelope came to the world a little earlier than they expected.
The couple also has a dog named Bandit in their family.
