Miles started as a guard for Michigan University. Miles played there for 3 years from 1972- 1975. Les Miles had coached for various clubs and he started as an assistant at Michigan in 1980. After leaving Michigan, he began working as an offensive line at University of Colorado. Les Miles returned to MIchigan as Offensive line in 1987 and worked their till 1994. In 1985 Miles joined Okhlamaha State as an offensive coordinator with former Colarodo head coach. From 1998 to 2000 The Mad Hatter worked for the Dallas Cowboys.
